Faculty:
Anne Davison:
cello teacher/director
Anne is delighted to return as director of Strings 'n' Things this year. She has a passion for education and draws from her own training (B. Mus, UBC; M. Mus, U of Ottawa) as well as her personal explorations of the cello and beyond. Her wholistic teaching style is centred on the cello but is influenced heavily by principles of body movement, and presence of mind. She currently teaches in Halifax and in Truro, NS.

Jennifer Jones:
violin teacher
Jennifer has a passion for teaching and is a well recognized violin teacher. Early in her career she spent time taking Suzuki teacher training in Kingston, Ontario where she worked with Helen Brunner-Spira. Throughout her career she has maintained a busy private studio. She has also been faculty member of Acadia University and the Maritime Conservatory of the Performing Arts. One of her greatest pleasures is coaching members of the NSYO. She has adjudicated exams and festivals and has been on the faculty of various summer institutes throughout the Maritimes.

Pam Mason:
violin/cello teacher
Pam started music lessons in the Halifax City Music program, studying with Ninette Babineau and Alex Tilley. Further building on her musical education, she went to McGill University and studied with Michael Leiter, (then principal bassist of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra) and Dennis James. Pam has continued to make education a part of her musical career. Over the past few years, she has worked with the NSYO as a mentor and coach and has taught beginning and junior high band in Dartmouth, Herring Cove and Sambro. Currently she teaches violin and cello in four Halifax schools and continues to perform and record professionally.
