Practice: My expectation is that students will practise at least 6 days a week for a minimum of 15 minutes each practice session. I realize that there will be weeks during which this won't be possible, but do the best you can. If you are repeatedly finding this to be a problem, try to schedule regular practice time into your schedule like you would any other activity. Consistency is the best way to learn.

Cello Journal: Each week, I would like my students to write down three comments/questions that have come up. This could be "I learned how to make my bow straighter today by doing __________." or "How can I get a better sound on my A string?"

Listening: I have put together a cello CD for each one of you. Please listen to one track per week and write down/remember any comments you have; we will discuss that piece of music at the following lesson.

Payment: It is my preference to be paid once a month, at the beginning of the month. I accept cash or cheque (please make cheques payable to Anne Davison). If for some reason, you are unable to meet this payment schedule, please let me know and we can work out another arrangement.

Cancellations: Having a good flow to musical pedagogy is incredibly important to me, and too many missed lessons can disturb that. Though I am a travelling performer in addition to my teaching, I will try as best I can to provide weekly lessons, but I will require your flexibility in matters of scheduling. Unfortunately I can't make allowances for bad weather or last-minute scheduling changes. For illness that is incapacitating, I require at least 24 hours notice or you will be charged for the missed lesson; I am usually quite flexible about rescheduling lessons if given enough advance notice.
